Jacques-Henri Lartigue, “Florette”, 1944

Jacques Henri Lartigue (June 13, 1894 – September 12, 1986). French painter and photographer from a wealthy family. Began taking pictures at 6, taking photos of himself, his toys, and his family. He is most famous for his photographs of automobile races. He is called a ‘gifted amateur’. Why, I don’t know since he took the official photo portrait of the French president, was showcased at prestigious galleries and did a book in collaboration with Avedon. But there you have it, I leave the titles to the experts. This shoot was done in Paris in 1944.
